BETWEEN TWO
ONE LITTLE INDIAN 26.3.07

Oh dear.

Ordinarily I can set my compass towards quality or at least interest from the triangulation point of On Little Indian Records but this release just passed me by. A drifting and pastoral set of strings, synths and samples, it sees beats float by in a passive occupation of the clock. I had hoped the title indicated something North African, something Moroccan. The track titles would hint at the same but instead it was washes of non-exotic sound that pass for ‘lounge’ music or after-club come-down. It’s neither the empty chill of Glacial music or the tunes of lounge and hangs between in a space that fills the time and the empty places of a built environment.

I’m afraid that filling time and space is not enough for me – this music is empty of purpose and expression. One to avoid.
